RKL Building Specialties Co., Inc. was founded in 1953 by its founding families-Rizzo, Kucich, and Losi. The Kucich Family became the sole owner in 1980 and it continued to be under the ownership and direction of Gary and Patricia Kucich, who purchased the business from Joseph Kucich in 2005, through August of 2013. Rooted in tradition, yet equipped with handling the most-current and contemporary projects, RKL is here to handle all types of construction jobs and is always up to a challenge. RKL was purchased by Mitek-Hohmann & Barnard in August of 2013, enabling RKL to expand its capabilities and offerings to its customers through extremely competitive prices, rapid turnaround time, state of the art manufacturing facility and custom steel fabrication abilities, all while never wavering from offering top notch customer service.

Located in College Point, Queens, New York, RKL serves the Tri-State area daily, in addition to providing materials and services throughout the country on a regular basis. RKL has its own on-site manufacturing facility, enabling same-day or next-day deliveries for most orders. Specializing in custom masonry and stone anchors, wall reinforcing, and all types of restoration products, RKL has what the contractor wants, when he wants it.

It is a name that issues a deep-rooted history in outstanding customer service, high-quality products, and an outstanding reputation in the construction industry. Some notable construction projects that RKL has worked on are: Citi-Field and Yankee Stadium construction, Battery Park City, the World Trade Center, the Freedom Tower, the Empire State Building, St. Patrick's Cathedral, The World's Fair, The Plaza Hotel renovation, the renovation and reconstruction of the Whitney Museum of Art and the American Museum of Natural History.
